Local government plays a significant role in the development of wind energy. Its principal task is to plan and manage supply of energy carriers and development of renewable energy sources, including wind energy. The tasks of local governments come down to stimulating the development of wind energy by means of:

• Creating conditions for development in the documents concerning local spatial planning and energy planning;
• Intermediation and support for investors in acquiring land for wind energy;
• Creating favourable climate by educating local communities;
• Supporting the investors in issues regarding administrative procedures.
